Agnetz is a town in the center of the Oise populated by about 3 150 inhabitants. It is part of the Community of Communes of Clermont, which is made up of 19 communes. Watered by La Brèche, a small non-navigable waterfront river bordered by the forest of Hez-Froidmont, it enjoys a very pleasant natural environment.
Located at equal distance from Paris and Amiens, it is a pole for trade and tourist exchanges between the Paris region, northern France and Europe.
In the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, some lords took his name. Let us mention Gautier in 1152, Eudes in 1206, Guillaume Gautier and Wasson in 1230. Since the Revolution, Clermont, in successive fractions, has monopolized a part of its territory. Currently, in addition to Agnetz, the commune includes the hamlets of: Boulincourt, Gicourt, Ronquerolles and Ramecourt.
Agnetz is honored with a church, classified Historical Monument since 1850 and which has always attracted admiration. Its construction, perhaps begun in the twelfth century, was completed in several stages from the 13th to the 16th century. Set in lush greenery, it is dedicated to Saint Léger and Sainte Agnès. Inside, the baptismal font dates back to the 13th century, the beam of glory dated 1643, now on the ground, and in the pseudo crypt a beautiful 16th-century tomb.
Agnetz, it is also a rural heritage. Lavender, calvaries, fountains, castle (now the town hall), old watermills, chapels, former priory, remarkable gardens... make up the landscape of this charming village.
Due to its forest environment, Agnetz is suitable for hiking, horseback riding, cycling, rollerblading... The village is crossed by the Trans'Oise, greenway linking the hamlet of Gicourt to the village of La Neuville-en-Hez.
Dynamic village, the town counts more than thirty associations of sporting and cultural character and equips regularly: stadiums, tennis courts, citystade, beach tennis, terrains of padels...
Annually, Agnetz celebrates Saint John the fourth Saturday in June. On the program: show, animations for children, conflagration of the pyre, fireworks...
It also hosts a farmer's market on the fourth weekend of September.
Cinema, swimming pool, center of cultural animations... Agnetz is in immediate proximity of all the equipments of Clermont. Thanks to its location in the center of the Oise department, it is an ideal starting point to reach major cities such as Compiègne, Beauvais, Chantilly...
