It was in 1280 that found the first written evidence of the existence of Abos, belonging to the Viscount of Bearn. In 1385, the town had 46 homes clustered around the church and the home of the local lord. In the 17th century had two abbeys Abos important secular, one who has seen death in his place, Charles de Bordeu, famous writer and poet, friend of Henri Duparc and Francis Jammes.
