Friendly site convenient for the Roscoff ferry on the 'voie verte' cyclewayWe chose this campsite because it is a convenient distance from the ferry at Roscoff (11 km), and we stayed there on the way out and again on our return (cycle camping). It has good-sized plots separated by hedges and lime trees, is clean and tidy. The site is close to the main road so could be a bit noisy for a long stay.. Sebastian, who manages the site, is very helpful and speaks good English. He sent a welcoming email with instructions to get there and once there gave us ideas of where to visit. The site is on the 'voie verte', the green cycle cycle way which goes from Roscoff into the heart of Brittany and beyond, via lanes, disused railway tracks and canal paths and so is an excellent stopover for cyclists. There are no shops nearby but there is a wonderful restaurant 'Johnnies' next to the site which serves traditional meals using local produce - a small menu of beautifully cooked food. The restaurant has nice ambience and good friendly service - well worth a visit (it's shut on Mondays and Tuesdays). Thoroughly recommended, would go again.

Camping break in BrittanyI and my daughter enjoyed our break at Tal Ar Mor. The service was exceptional, the attendant was very helpful and gave very good instructions to find the site also once at the site he was very helpful with sorting our itinery and further information. The pitches were of good camping standard. As a Bike rider I was pleased to see the ground had a good gravelly drainage substrate and was happy to put the bike on its side stand using a block of wood that the attendant found efficiently. Unfortunately as it is on the wrong side of the D58 (A busy road) for good coastal access and at a corner also, one felt a little vulnerable coming and going from the sites junction. Both by foot and loaded motorbike. Also I noticed that people had a tendency to congregate in the car park and it having a very gravelly surface with no clear markings required careful negotiation. Chalets were also available and afford for early starts, and negate the need to pack up quickly, for little further cost. It is an ideal site for day tripping the area: Roscoff, Carentec, Plougasnou and Morlaix, and the restaurant / shop provided a friendly environment to return to, or relax in and enjoy the local culture when required. I look forward to using this site again for return trips to the continent.

Really great, little known, campsiteWe stayed here twice, on arriving in Brittany and the night before catching the ferry. We loved it! We do have a motor home so are completely self contained therefore I cannot vouch for the showers, etc but we liked the fact that it was so simple - there are no playgrounds, swimming pools, club rooms etc - just a good old fashioned campsite where the pitches are all separated by hedges and trees making it feel private and quiet. Sebastion was so friendly and extremely helpful even arranging the vet's visit for us before returning to UK with our dogs. There were plenty of places to walk the dogs and they were welcomed everywhere. The restaurant at the entrance (not part of the campsite), Les Comptoirs des Johnnies, was not only convenient but the best place we ate in our whole trip! You cannot beat it for local colour, good food and friendliness. St Paul de Leon, very nearby, is a lovely little town too. I would highly recommend this campsite as long as you are not looking for a 'camping pleasure park'.

Clean, tidying and welcomingThe showers are excellent, the toilets and wash area are always clean, as is the washing up area. There is always hot water. The pitches are big with hedges on 3 sides, we had the whole of one side of the site to ourselves up an avenue of trees. It was very handy, only about 6 miles from for the Roscoff ferry as we were on our bikes. We stayed at 3 sites during our 10 day stay in Northern Finistere, 5 of them at Tal Ar Mor. One of the others that we stayed at was a 3*, the welcome wasnt so good and the showers and hot water was not as good.
