34 Rue De Queyroix-Martin - Vaulry

Le Queyroix Martin is a haven of peace and tranquility where you can breathe fresh air, listen to the birds sing and relax and recharge your batteries. The guest house offers five double bedrooms, all with en-suite shower, which were created with love from apple barns and livestock barns built in 1883. The evening meal (table d'hote) is enjoyed in the dining room with many original features, or if the weather permits, outside on the terrace overlooking the garden. Surrounded by forests of chestnut and oak, Le Queyroix Martin occupies two hectares of land, including the original apple orchard. Guests are free to wander and explore, find a comfortable place to read a book or just relax and admire the view across the valley to soak up the atmosphere and perhaps watch a deer which often graze among the trees.

Le Queyroix-Martin offers bed and breakfast or why not book an evening meal in advance so you can simply relax after your arrival.

B & B at its Best
There are really only 2 questions to ask. Would I recommend to friends? (that's a yes) and would I go again? (see the end) I've seen reviews where the guests waxed lyrical about their hosts, and never quite believed them. Well Graham and Debra fit the bill as perfect hosts in an idyllic spot in a house that has been thoughtfully renovated down to the tiny details E.g. somewhere to put your (her) ever expanding toilet bags in the beautiful bathroom, a hook just outside the shower door for your fluffy towel, a fly screen on the picture window, 2 easy chairs I could go on. Debra may be a self-taught cook, but there is nothing amateurish about her cooking. Portions big enough to satisfy but not overwhelm. And finally as hosts. Rightly proud of their establishment, they welcome guests quietly and make easy conversation and are happy to share their experience of France without doing the know-it-all routine. So please don't go, we want to be able to get in the next time we visit. An unbounded pleasure, thank-you from Mike and Val - PS the score is right, as a nit picker I couldn't find a single nit to pick.

An absolute gem
A little off the beaten track, but worth the bother. A lovely British couple run this B&B, and offer the option of sharing a superb home-cooked evening meal - very definitely worth taking up. Our room was large and well-equipped with an excellent bathroom. I could not speak more highly of the friendliness of the owners or of their delightful property.

Find Chamboret on the N147 between Limoges and Bellac. At an intersection with a restaurant / bar called 'La Bergerie' turn on the D711 direction Cieux and Blond. Follow the road through and out of Chamboret over a narrow bridge and continue up the hill where the road makes a left turn. At this bend, turn right towards Vaulry. This is the D5. Follow the road through Puyboreau and to Vaulry. When you enter Vaulry you should see the recycling point on the left Take the road to the left immediately after the recycling point and before crossing the small river. The road is indicated Quéroix -Martin (alternative spelling). Continue to follow the road up the hill. After about 1 km at a crossroads, turn right and follow the road past a cottage on the left and we are the next house on the right with the blue barriers.
