Best chambre d'hote in France ever!!
We are a Korean couple and stayed for 2 nights in Romatique room and recently came back home to Paris, but already I want to go back to Perigord just to spend more time in La Lysiane. I've been to several very impressive chambre d'hote in France since I came to Paris but this place is the one that is really exceptional. First this BnB is located in just in the middle of the famous tourist sites in Perigod which are Rocamadour, Sarlat, St cirq Lappopie and grotte de Padirac that you can travel very effectively almost to everywhere important just staying in here. Also this place is in very peaceful and calm country side with beautiful garden and fields around it that you can really feel getting away from town and getting rest. The guest rooms are situated in the indepentant maison from the maison where the owners live so guests can enjoy their own living room and dining room other than bedrooms. Living room with couches and fire place is so beautiful and warm that I really felt relaxed and happy just sitting in front of it with a cup of tea. I could not believe this place has been opened since 2007 since every thing in the house and room seems so brand new and clean. Our room was Romantique room and it was also so tastefully decorated and pretty. Monsieur Rivetti showed us to look around other rooms as well and other 3 rooms are also large and very uniquely and beautifully decorated. I could feel how much Monsieur and Madame Rivetti adores and tended this place. Monsieur and Madame Rivetti are the nicest people I met in France and they are not just friendly but really trying to help you to have a good memory of their house and Perigord. They are full of good information about the tourism around the area and I also heard very intersting and good stories about the porcelains limouges and history of France which is very educative to foreigners like me. Unfortunately I had a cold due to a sudden rain when visiting grottes de Lascaux and could not really see much of the sites afterwards as I intended but I enjoyed their company so much that after I came back from Paris, the memory is dearer to me than visiting fancy sites. Madame Rivetti made everything in the breakfast by herself and they are all organic and tastes very good. I did not have coffee because I have a cold but my husband said the coffee was really good. I have to see the grottes de Paridac and St. cirq lapoppie too and I would definitely go back to La Lysiane before I leave for Korea in 2014. Madame Rivetti gave me a jar of Jam which is made by herself on my leaving and it was so sweet of her. If you are going to Perigord, just stay here. You will see what I mean. You will love it!!!
