Susie & Bernard welcome you to their Bed & Breakfast in a former protestant orphanage in the centre of the charming country town of Mehun-sur-Yèvre, famous for its connections with Charles vii and Joan of Arc. It is considered one of the most beautiful detours in France. Our home will be the starting point to discover Mehun and its long history. Walk through the Duke of Berry Gardens to the ruins of the chateau belonging to Charles vii and then take a stroll through the cobbled streets of the town through the clock tower situated along the old city walls -all a stone's throw from La Petite Famille. We have one double bedroom Les Parents with en-suite and a suite composed of two double bedrooms, La chambre d'Isabelle and La chambre de Thomas with bathroom. The suite is ideal for a family or friends. We serve breakfast with a selection of homemade breads, pastries and cakes, in our dining room or on our patio if the weather permits. Our sitting room is open to our guests and a trolley is available with hot and cold drinks and home made biscuits. We hope our guests will also enjoy our English style garden. Car parking facilities for two cars. Mehun-sur-Yèvre is ideally situated close to Bourges, ancient Roman capital of France Avaricum and not far from the Sologne forest, ideal for walking, hunting and fishing, Sancerre, Menetou-Salon and Quincy, famous for their wines and an abundance of chateaus and other historical sites, enough to satisfy the most demanding history buff.
