Le Cottage - Chambres d'hôtes en Essone

I recently stayed with Anne and Gilbert for 3 nights as a base from which to explore Paris. It is an easy train trip of 30 mins to or from the centre of Paris with plenty of scheduled trains. Each night I enjoyed very well prepared and delicious meals in the company of Anne and Gilbert, who are attentive and gracious hosts, together with their other guests. The hours spent around the table chatting while enjoying good food and wine were some of my best experiences in France during this trip.. If you wish to practice your French, this is the perfect environment as both Anne and Gilbert are both patient and encouraging. If you don't speak French, this is no problem as they both speak English. Breakfast is great too. If you stay here, don't miss Anne's home-made yoghurt. It is one of the best I have ever tasted. The room that I had was very comfortable and well appointed. There is a lovely spacious park nearby which is perfect for a pre-dinner stroll. I have stayed in many chambres-d'hôtes in France, and Le Cottage is among my favourites.

We stayed here to give ourselves an easy commute to Paris. It was a 3 minute walk to the station- spotless trains available every 15 minutes, and just 30 minutes into St Michel Notre Dame. Perfect. Anne and Gilbert and the most charming and considerate hosts. We would stay here again.
